Came here for their lunch special and was impressed with the price and quantity! It's located in the Walnut Village Center, which is a busy plaza. This Japanese restaurant has a sushi bar and also serves tapas and small plates. Their lunch special is only offered during weekdays. I got the sushi and sashimi ensemble for $40 (served with miso soup and salad). The fish quality was good for the price. It came with chef's choice of 6 sushi pieces, 6 sashimi, and maki. The chef gave me an extra sushi piece on the house. My favorite was the salmon, yellowtail, and halibut. The maki was yummy! Fish was fresh and platter was presented nicely. The menu prices are reasonable. Their lunch specials are worth it!

Had an amazing experience at Gurume for dinner! The service is wonderful. We ordered Gurume Omakase and Miso Black Cod meal set. The meal was so delicious. We tasted a variety of high quality fish and everything is fresh and melted in our mouth. We will definitely coming back again soon!

What a beautiful space! This restaurant is tucked in the corner of the building, but there's so much space inside. We got seated in the outdoor patio and loved the beautiful decor and atmosphere. Service was very attentive and quick. DIY HAND ROLL ($35) -comes with 6 types of proteins, rice, and a stack of seaweed + miso soup -big portion! could barely finish all of it -very fun to make and customize

Came here for lunch and really enjoyed it. Parking is a bit tricky since it's next to Omomo which always has a crazy line Got the sashimi lunch special which comes with miso soup and salad. It comes with a variety of chefs choice sashimi- my favorites were the tuna, salmon and yellowtail The tekka maki was a bit messy to eat because of the size but delicious Fish was very fresh and nice presentation Decent price point, not cheap but it's reasonable Hot tea was nice- they charge $3 but they do refill when you ask (they don't seem to offer refills, I had to ask a couple times)

Came for Mother's Day and we tried their Teishoku set meal. Miso Black Cod: so soft and delicate. It was delicious. Came with 5 pieces of sashimi, 3 pc tempura, salad, and other sides. It was so good. Nabeyaki Udon: also really good. Ask for tempura on the side so it doesn't get soggy. Takoyaki: really good as well. Ultimate Salmon Roll: this is a good staple roll.

Sometimes what you are searching for is right there in front of you. This plaza is near my home and I frequent the Starbucks, the Omomo Tea Shop, the Trader Joes. Gurume is a new restaurant, and from the pictures, I thought it was a sushi and sashimi place. We discovered one of the very best Japanese restaurants around. The decor was wonderful. Each seating area was private and not crowded. There are a lot of angles, wood, windows, art, and style. The portions are huge and the food is perfectly prepared. Look at my pictures. We ordered way too much food. The bento boxes are the largest I have ever seen. We are heading back soon. This place is five stars.

I tried this restaurant yesterday and really enjoyed my visit. The decor inside is very nice and open. The menu has a wide selection of sushi rolls, bento boxes, and other dishes. We ordered the Gurume Fresh Roll and Rainbow Roll. Both of the sushi rolls tasted extremely fresh and delicious. Each bento box comes with small dishes such as salad and fresh sashimi, which I liked. If you are looking for a Japanese restaurant with delicious sushi rolls and friendly service in a good ambiance, then I recommend coming here

First time trying Gurume Sushi and I think it's pretty good. The inside is decorated well and tables are spaced out perfectly. I ordered the iced green tea, the OMG roll, assorted tempura, jalapeno poppers and the lunch special sushi harmony (7 piece omakase and maki roll). Everything was served well and the slices of fresh fish across the sushi were HUGE in comparison to the rice underneath. This can be good or bad depending upon how you like your sushi as the ratio is a bit off. Prices are fair for most of their items but their lunch specials is really where it's worth it and I would definitely recommend ordering off it.

This place is really good. I had the hamachi kama meal set. It had a lot of different items including sashimi. It was quite generous in my opinion. I thought the price was reasonable for what you get and the quality of the food was very good. The place is clean and modern and the service is good.

Loved the interior decor and the water feature in front of the establishment. It was a bit hard to find parking, but eventually I found a spot. I really appreciated that the music was soothing and nothing annoyingly loud, too. It's hard to find places that are more calm and quiet these days. Service was also great and attentive, thank you for a great dining experience overall. I liked that the servers all checked up on us to ensure that we were attended to and didn't just ignore us. Pretty cool that they do that here. I fell in love with their Hokkaido Gurame roll, which has asparagus and real crab meat inside and features salmon and Hokkaido scallops on top with yuzu sauce. Just a party of flavors in your mouth! I like that their wasabi isn't just made of the powder kind either. This roll is reminiscent of a special nigiri creation from an authentic Japanese restaurant's Omakase that we've been to for my birthday recently, so it definitely is a huge favorite of mine. The chirashi don lunch special and premium chirashi don both come with miso soup as starters. The fish selection was superb and you can tell the quality and freshness in each bite. It is thoroughly enjoyable without soy sauce!
